Background:
The annual Workshop is funded by the Chinese Language Journalism Fund, Times Journalism Foundation, Singapore Press Holdings. And Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, is the organizer. Trainers are local journalists from Singapore Press Holdings and Singapore Media Corporations. Professors of journalism from the Wee Kim Wee School also provide both conceptual and hands-on training sessions. Since its inception in 2000, the Workshop has trained more than 280 junior college students. Some of them have become journalists while others are pursuing their further studies in journalism and communication.
